After Hours featuring Sharón Clark, air date Nov. 25, 2019

Join me for the Nov. 25, 2019, edition of After Hours on KCAW Raven Radio in Sitka, Alaska, when I was joined in conversation with Washington, D.C., standout Sharón Clark.

Sharón has brought festival and concert audiences to their feet across the U.S. and Europe. Her New York run drew raves from the NY Times and the Wall Street Journal, and she won New York’s Bistro Award for Best Vocalist. Ms. Clark has made multiple international tours in recent years, making her debut in Israel and returning to Russia, where she has developed a major following. Her most recent release, “Do it Again — My Tribute to Shirley Horn,” is on its third printing, and she grabs top honors wherever she goes.

After Hours featuring Christian Fabian, air date Nov. 18, 2019

Join me for the Nov. 18, 2019, edition of After Hours on KCAW Raven Radio as I’m joined in conversation with jazz bassist Christian Fabian.

Christian was born in Sweden and moved to the U.S in the 90’s to attend Berklee College. He is currently active in the New York scene, playing with Mike Longo’s NY State of the Art Jazz Ensemble and around the metro area. He is a co-leader of the New Lionel Hampton Band featuring Jason Marsalis.

Christian has become one of the best-regraded bassists on the U.S jazz scene today. When not in New York or out on tour, Christian can be found in Sitka, where he frequently teaches at the Sitka Fine Arts Camp. He also is a member of the Native Jazz Quartet with Ed Littlefield of Sitka, Jason Marsalis and Reuel Lubag.
